Kama Jones is a Mental Health Therapist and Addictions worker with a BA in Psychology and Addiction Studies. She grew up in central SK, attended university in North Dakota USA and landed in Northeast Saskatchewan in 2009, and since calls Tisdale area home.
Kama has worked in the Mental Health Field since 2009. Starting out at TMSS as a school based mental health support, learning the ways of the northeast through the eyes of our youth. Kama was then given the opportunity to work for Kinistin First Nations Wellness Centre, being welcomed into the community and immersed in the Saulteaux culture. in 2012, Kama began working with the Saskatchewan Health Authority, in the Mental Health & Addiction Services department. Kama has an innate passion for supporting people who are adversely affected by addiction and mental health concerns. Kama’s experience has provided her the opportunity to work with people of all ages, cultures, ethnicities, and sexual orientations.
Kama provides a dynamic, individualistic strength-based and solution focused approach to counseling. She is trauma informed and strives to provide a safe supportive environment to engage clients in identifying their strengths through adversity. Kama works together with her clients to set attainable goals to gain control in their life and ultimately feel/live healthier.

When the workday is done you can find Kama at home with her family, cooking/ baking, gardening, farming, canning, and attending to the activities of her children. When there is a spare moment to get away, Kama loves to head to the lake, go camping and explore new places.
